Nighttime Adventures

If you know me well you probably know that I have regular nocturnal visitors via the smoke detector in my room. Don't ask my why but my sleepy brain has nightly adventures with what I like to call my "conspiracy dreams". They usually involve somebody watching from the smoke detector and setting random traps in my room. It's actually kind of tiring to try to think like James Bond in my sleep. The reality is that I totally miss the spy mark and usually end up whispering to said visitors, "Go away, I just want to sleep!" or some version of "Heavenly Father doesn't want you here, so just leave me alone!" You might think this is odd if you don't have regular conspiracy dreams, but even in my half-coherant state I usually know I can talk myself back to sleep. Only on occasion do I wake Scott in a panic - thankfully.

Last night the conspirators remodeled my room to hide a secret entrance behind my bed. So irritating!

The additional complication of the aforementioned dreams is that when I am out of my normal element, I'm more likely to believe what I'm seeing and wake whoever is nearby (usually Scott, of course) but this weekend I'm going to St. George with my clogging friends and we're staying together in a hotel. It could be a real adventure. I can't decide if I should warn them first. Never a dull moment.

You should definitely warn them first! Remember, I had that experience of being woken by you in St. George several years ago. They should really be prepared. :)

By the way, visit my blog because I tagged you!

I still roll my eyes about that, the little insomniac finally falls asleep and I terrorize her! How do people put up with me?
Ps - wasn't it Arizona? The same trip where they gave us the wrong room key and we walked in on a guy in his boxers. Good times.

Oh yeah, that's right...Arizona. I have the world's worst memory and it isn't even funny. Yes, the wrong room key. I'm just glad we did it to him and not the other way around!

I am so sorry you have to deal with those kinds of dreams too. Maybe we should go into therapy together or something. The conspiracy in my dreams usually include someone watching me, and a suprise that Scott is planning for me - at 2:00am.

I've recently found myself obsessively trying to prevent the light over our bed from falling on us in the middle of the night. I can't tell you how many times Wendy has had to say, "Justin, lay back down...the light is not going to fall on us."

Won't she be sad when it finally DOES fall on us and I'm not there to catch it!

Wow, I have very vivid dreams, but at least people are not out to get me, and in my own bedroom. That would bug me! I think it would be much more surprising to NOT warn people and see what happens. I wish I were going!
