They were even more thrilled when I told them we were going to "trick" Scott for dinner. I fixed meatloaf and cooked it in a cupcake pan then we topped them with blue/green mashed potatoes. They loved using the frosting squirter thing (can't remember what you call it) to pipe the potatoes on top of the meatloaf. They thought it was hilarious and wouldn't let Scott into the kitchen until everything was set. Then they watched him take a "surprised" bite and cheered, "April Fools!".
My kids are easily amused (I guess I am too). I may have to get a bit more creative next year.

(Warren joined us for dinner and got into it just as much as my kids.)

That is too funny. I can't imagine biting into what I thought was a cupcake and having it be meatloaf. :) That's fun.
That is so fun. You are so creative. I am not a big April Fools fan, but mostly because I can't come up with any good ideas! :D
We had a very mild April Fool's Day, so thanks for letting Warren in on the fun! I didn't even notice him in the picture until I read that he was included in the festivities, then I went back up and looked at the picture again. Sometimes I really worry about myself.
Very clever. But for some reason it's making me crave a cupcake.
Fun, we did that last year (the cupcakes) and it was a blast!
