Just before Christmas I was inspired by my sisters, my mom and others (who's children always looks like they've been to the hairstylist), and a load of guilt to try to do something real to Izzy's hair every day. So, the next morning I sat her in front of the mirror and tried to be a little creative. I did a french braid across the top over to the side and swept it back into a ponytail. It actually turned out really cute and I was quite pleased with myself until Izzy realized her hair looked different than she requested and the unreal fit began. She screamed for an hour (no exaggeration) until Scott finally calmed her down and I took her to Annie's while I had a dentist appointment. When I got back to the kids and we headed home she remembered again and we had more sadness! At least she is consistent, right?
This is the painful hairdo (after she pulled the braid out).
This is her preferred hairdo, two side ponytails with a bow in the middle (it's black and hard to see). She requests this hairdo every Sunday, so I'll be honest, I'm proud when she has her hair combed with a clip in it - I take my small victories.

Cute Isabelle! I think it is funny she doesn't like her hair being done :) I suppose you will just have to stick to simple and sweet..or do what my mom did and cut her hair short!
Love you guys! :)
This is why I feel lucky to have a son (who is very nearly bald, btw).
oh my gosh. Funny Izzy!
Her face(s) say it all! I guess it's better and easier to stick with what works (and lucky you, it looks cute, too!) I am impressed with your braid, though. It's too bad it won't get to be shown off too much in the near future!
Having three girls, I gave up long ago on cutesy hair styles and I feel happy when it isn't in their face. My new goal for this year is to not be doing their hair in church during the opening hymn. With 11:00 I can manage that right?
She cracks me up! I admit, I was wondering, "why the bow in the middle of the head?" when I saw you at Christmas. There is nothing wrong with wanting things your own way, and I speak from experience!
Kate, I'm confident you weren't the only one wondering. I have really had to chill out on worrying what people think of my mothering skills.
