You know how you can hear a song and it evokes a memory. As I was putting together my playlist I found "Lost in your Eyes" and as it played I was transported back to one seventh grade after school dance and my first broken heart (I say this with a smile). I'll admit I was a very dramatic teenager and it wasn't my only heartbreak, but it was the first, so therefore memorable. Don't worry, my heart has since healed and I am thankful that I had those moments to feel. I think if I never had the drama of the sadness I would never have enjoyed the delights of a passing hello, or the excitement of being asked to dance, etc. I'm also glad I can still remember how tragic it felt at the time so when my dramatic 3 year old hits these years I won't forget how real it is.
Ah, good old Debbie Gibson! Isn't it funny how powerful music can be.

I think we're looking at each others blogs at the same time. And I was recently singing the tune to 373-9120. It reminds me of frozen cherries.
Totally weird and a little bit freaky!! I just wrote a whole post about music with a link to your site and then when I came over, there you were talking about the same stuff I was. (Do do do do--twilight zone music).
Cute post Sun. I think I know who your first heartbreak was, but I'm not going to announce it over the web.
Songs do the same thing to me. So do smells. The only time I ever kissed someone just for fun, he was wearing wintergreen chapstick. I purposely stay away from that flavor because of this, although I always kinda want it!!!
Thanks Jenn, much appreciated. I'll remember not to give you wintergreen chapstick for your birthday.
I still here song that remind me of old boyfriends. Now though I'm glad to hear song during the day that remind me of Tyler or my kids. It's funny when I'm cooking or by myself and I catch myself sing song from music makers.
It's Kari by the way!
I could just feel myself sitting in the alcove crying at a junior high dance because the love of my life asked my friend to dance. Sigh. The power of music. I'm glad you survived your broken heart, and that you have gone on to find the true love of your life!
