New Prayers and Mixed up words

We had an FHE lesson on Monday about prayers because we needed a refresher on how prayers should be said. I used the Primary song "I pray in Faith" - great song - and talked about each part of a prayer then we practiced and ended.

Since then my children have really tried to do better on their prayers.

On Thursday at bedtime Ryan blessed the people who are sick and afflicted - which he had to pronounce a few times before he was satisfied with how it sounded - I thought this was interesting considering the fact that neither Scott nor I really use this phrase. So after that Izzy prayed and asked for blessings upon the afflicted people. Then tonight she added "and bless that I'll do what Mom asks me to--sometimes."

She makes me laugh.

In the car tonight the kids were playing with each other and pretending some sort of spy game which rotated around secretly getting to their "lavatory" and making sure that the bad guy didn't get to their "lavatory" because his "lavatory" was burning up. I was quietly giggling in the front seat as I continually pictured them sneaking into their bathroom through the window and the bad guy's bathroom in flames. I love it when my kids get words mixed up. Is it bad that I didn't correct them?

Here's hoping Izzy's prayer is answered about doing what you ask her to do-sometimes! And I think spies in the lavatory would make for a very interesting plot to a book/movie. What cute kiddos!

what fun kids! izzy apparently gets the whole "real intent" thing about praying.

Sometimes it doesn't do any good to correct them. For example, last night we saw a praying mantis. Taylor kept calling it a humantis. When Haisel tried to correct him the best he could do was call it a praying humantis. I liked it better that way anyway.

I love mixed up words and that lavatory story is really funny.
Robyn constantly says 'becept' instead of 'except', i.e. They are all blue becept the little one.
I think it is adorable, so I usually don't correct her.
Oh, and Ivory says Hanitizer instead of Hand Sanitizer. I like her version because it is shorter.

Reminds me of Haisel's "mashed potaylors" comment.

My favorite prayer of Ryan's was when he said "and bless the food and if everyone doesn't eat it all then I will eat it all."
