It's been 25 years since the first commercial wireless phone call (according the Deseret News). Since that time cell phones themselves have evolved as well as the expense and use. Apparently text messaging has overtaken actually talking and only "users 45 and older, still use their phone primarily for the archaic purpose of talking to other people".
I just aged considerably.
(FYI - I do know how to send a text it just takes me a while.)

How old are people who don't own cell phones?
i'm archaic right there with you! i've never sent a text.
I've sent one text message. It said, "Yay".
In my opinion, texting takes all the personality out of a conversation. How can you tell someone a touching experience while texting? Person to person or even voice to voice lets the spirit communicate too. I don't feel one bit sad or left out because I don't text. I still know how to look at people in the eye when I talk to them.
Sorrry for my soap box.
I have yet to send a text--- at least I finally learned how to check my voice mail...! :)
Sunny, I really think we ought to start communicating more & more face to face rather than through your blog. I am concerned that you have not been responding to my text messages that I send to you & I am thinking we need to visit our bishop really soon. Also, have I ever told you that I am a chocoholic? I need to get over my addiction but the bag of snickers in the pantry wont let me do that. Please help me!!!
If it is a message or a short answer question then I will text, but I am not a very fast texter (mostly because I don't care) so if it is a conversation I need to have I will call. Plus all the abbreviations that you need to learn to text fast drive me nuts. I much prefer to spell things out. Which is odd scince I am a really bad speller
I'm with your friend, all the abbreviations drive me nuts. I think kids are going to have a hard time learning to spell correctly because of the abbreviations and the auto spell thing.
