High School Tag

I'm not much of a tagger but I've been thinking about High School so when I came across this on my niece's blog I decided to reminisce.

1. DID YOU DATE SOMEONE FROM YOUR SCHOOL? No, but I had lots of fun.

2.WHAT KIND OF CAR DID YOU DRIVE?
It all depended upon the day and year (mostly I rode the bus ;)). For a time I drove my Grandma's old gold Cadillac, on occasion I drove the family suburban and my favorite - if I was lucky I got to drive my Dad's maxima. (funny story - I set off the alarm in front of my friends house and couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Eventually her neighbor came out - the mother of the current crush ironically - and helped us. I was so mortified.)

3. DID YOU PASS YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE TEST YOUR FIRST TRY? Technically no, I had to get new contacts.

4. WERE YOU A PARTY ANIMAL? Define party animal - I liked to be the life of the party, but the parties I attended were usually quite tame.

5. WERE YOU CONSIDERED A FLIRT? Yes unless it was a boy that I wanted to ask me out and then I could barely string two intelligent words together (miraculously I still managed to catch a guy!)

6. WERE YOU IN BAND, ORCHESTRA, OR CHOIR? Choir - loved it (it helped me attempt to overcome #5)

7. WERE YOU A NERD? In ways... I've never really been in style, I got good grades, so I guess, yeah.

8. WERE YOU ON ANY VARSITY TEAMS? Nope

9. DID YOU EVER GET SUSPENDED/EXPELLED? No

10. CAN YOU STILL SING THE FIGHT SONG? Sure can "We are the fighting Bruins of Mtn. View..."
11. WHO WERE YOUR FAVORITE TEACHERS? Mr. Peterson (I loved A Capella), Miss Eddy (pretty sure there was a cute boy in that class) really I tried to block out class time from my memory.

12. WHERE DID YOU SIT FOR LUNCH? Lunchroom or hallway

13. WHAT IS YOUR SCHOOL'S FULL NAME? Mountain View High School

14. WHAT IS YOUR SCHOOL'S MASCOT AND COLORS? Bruin, Cardinal Red and Gold

15. DID YOU GO TO HOMECOMING AND WITH WHOM? Yes, Jonathan Fisher

16. IF YOU COULD GO BACK AND DO IT AGAIN WOULD YOU? I had so many good times (my fair share of challenging ones too) I think if I could jump back in time I would and do a few things differently, but really who wants to move backwards?

17. WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER MOST ABOUT GRADUATION? I remember most of my friends were heartbroken and I was stoked to move on. I got to stand in line to shake everyone's hand as they went by and I remember this jock who had barely said two words to me hugged me, called me by name and said he'd miss me. Odd.

18. WHERE DID YOU GO SENIOR SKIP DAY? I guess that was Lagoon Day.

19. WERE YOU IN ANY CLUBS? I was VLVP (Virgin Lips Vice President). This was our own little joke club but somebody thought it would be a good idea to put it in the yearbook (sigh). I was a bit of a spaz, but really, if the right guy had wanted to I would have turned in my badge!

20. HAVE YOU GAINED SOME WEIGHT SINCE THEN? Um, yeah.

21. WHO WAS YOUR PROM DATE? Darrell Gardner my Jr. year and my little 8 mo. old nephew my senior year. (Me and two friends didn't get asked so we went on a road trip to stay with my sis in Logan - I got some serious kisses on that date!)

22. ARE YOU PLANNING ON GOING TO YOUR REUNION? Yes

23. DID YOU HAVE A JOB IN HIGH SCHOOL? I volunteered at the Scera Theater, mowed lawns for my dad and stuffed envelopes for a company called United Education Centers.

I tag whoever wants to take a trip down memory lane. (I probably could have thought up some more interesting questions, in fact...)

24. Most embarrassing memory: I have several, most of which I don't want to relive, but the funniest one was when I tried to take a pie to a boy who I had asked out to a dance. The pie was kind of runny (I was still perfecting) and still a little warm (banana cream) so the whipped cream started melting and dripping over the edge even before we arrived (I roped Justin into helping me deliver). We got out of the car, I took the pie, walked up to the porch and tripped on the steps. Half of the pie sloshed out of the pan coating the porch and the door. I didn't know what to do so rather than just running, I made Justin turn on the hose and squirt of the porch while I rang the bell (I don't know what I was thinking). I tried to explain what happened to the guys little sister and asked for a rubber scraper to smooth what was left in the pie crust then I sure left that miserable pie there and left much humbled. So funny.

That was really fun to read. It made me think of all my great high school memories (although I don't know my fight song...am I fired?)
