If you had a million dollars, what would you do? After Scott asked me this and I responded with the boring answers of: buy a new house, buy some new clothes and shoes (I shop more for my children than myself), and hire a maid. He reminded me of my not so secret wish of wanting to stay at the hotel at California Adventure - that would be awesome. So it's now offically a goal of mine - we may never hit a million, but someday we'll stay at that hotel.
Scott:
That's fairly easy (after the new house of course) he would then buy another fourwheeler with an enclosed trailer. (I just asked him what he would buy and he nodded his head at my answer then added that he would buy Brother Maxwell - a sweet disabled gentleman in our ward who is quite poor - a new car. It's true though, he would.)
Ryan:
He would buy his own Nintendo (or whatever kids play now) stocked with Pokemon and superhero games. (This is the great big no at our house). He'd make sure our new house had a soccer/football field and he'd buy all the bionicles ever made(hence my need for a maid).
Isabelle:
Ever since our Disneyland trip in November Isabelle asks me at least twice a week if we can go to Disneyland that day. She has shed many a tear over my lack of sensitivity. She will also often ask me, "Are there people at Disneyland today?" (me) "Yes." (her) "Well, then we can go!"
She also would stock her wardrobe with clothes with cats.
She'd also probably love a bunch of bubble gum.
Okay so most of this is frivolous, but if you can't dream of frivolous things...besides, realistically speaking I just spent a heck of a lot more than a million dollars (give or take a pack of gum)!!

I love this...and I love that Isabelle would go to Disneyland, probably everyday!! :)
I totally agree with your goal to stay in that hotel, we have friends who stayed there, and they said it was incredible!
PS..thank you for my birthday messages..I loved them!!!
I would totally go to Disneyland. And then maybe Paris. And I think that is so cool that Scott would buy Bro. Maxwell a car. I would try to do some kind of service as well. Hmmm, but I really want to go for a hot air balloon ride. That isn't impossible for sure, just one of those fancies that may take a while to realize.
I have always wanted to go swimming with dolphins. That is what I would along with traveling the world doing humanitarian work.
Maybe I'm too much like my Dad, But I would stick about $850,000 of it in the bank "just in case." Then, maybe a bit like Mom, I would get lots of cool things for the kids. That is why Scott is in charge of our finances.
PS, I did just get my dream house-- so that doesn't need to be on the list-- if not it sure would be.
I would get new couches, a dresser for my room, a new kitchen table, a two-car garage, big trees in my yard, a new job for Ammon, and live debt free. Marvelous!
I would travel like crazy- paris, rome, australia!
I would pay off our house, set up great college funds for the kids, put a bunch in retirement, and travel with the rest. I don't even think I'd buy a new house yet. Maybe I could do that with the interest we earn from saving it. Wouldn't it be nice?
Um.. Kate, you forgot to mention that you'd move back to Utah Valley. I'm sure you just forgot that part.
Sunny,
This is Stacy Kent, I finally joined the blogging world...well kind of, I'm having a hard time with the set up. But I miss the old neighborhood terribly and would love to keep up with all you guys. Visit my blog at kentandcompany.blogspot.
Funny you mention that California Adventure Hotel, we were there last November too and we made it a goal to try and stay there next time we went to Disneyland. Coincidently, Ashton also daily asks if we can go back to Disneyland. Then I have to remind him of the 10 hour drive which he barely makes through, even with his own DVD player playing his favorite cartoons and driving us crazy.
By the way, with a million dollars I would buy a new house and pay off debt and invest a lot of it so that I wouldn't be kicking myself years down the road when it was all gone.....
pay off all my debt, my mom's debt, and then go on a book of mormon cruise.... Then I would forget about it. I all ready know I could go crazy and it would never be enough... I never want to go back to unwise steward days!
