Isabelle decided the other day that Seraphina needed a new name. I told her that it was unneccesary considering the fact that she named her in the first place. However, she was quite adament, so as far as she is concerned, Seraphina is now also known as Pearl. I asked her where she came up with that name and she looked at me seriously and said, "It came right out of my body."
So, while to the rest of us she remains, Seraphina, Kitty or Kit, I now present Miss Pearl.

Sunny, you can tell Isabelle that her great great grandmother was named Pearl (my mother's mother). She was a wonderful woman who loved all animals, including cats! By the way, Isabelle's eyes are so beautiful! I wonder when the curly hair will come in?

It's good thing that animal are more willing to have their names changed a million times. I don't know how well I would handle it and how confused I would be.

So was she named Seraphina for Barbie's cat?? Is that right? I've only seen that Barbie movie a few times compared to the billions of times I have seen the others. Then again, maybe it was just a beautiful name that came right out of her body.
You are correct! Seraphina's name was in fact inspired by Barbie's cat in Princess and the Pauper! I'm impressed! (Then again, you do have three daughters!)
She will always be Seraphina to me. Just like RICKS will always be RICKS.
