A Great Day for a Lemonade Stand!

We scheduled a preschool Bake Sale today to end our Bread Project. The kids prepared the sign for the table and invitations to hand out in class on Tuesday. This morning we mixed up a batch of soft pretzels and rolled the dough to our hearts content. We moved out the table and chairs, put up the sign and at the appointed time carried out the lemonade and our treats. Of course, the winds were blowing. The kids were freezing! They sold a couple of cookies, grabbed one for themselves and then wanted to call it quits. Luckily we had customers come quickly after that so the kids stuck with it until I was done (all of twelve minutes later). We should have sold hot chocolate! We would have made a killing! Anyway, the kids had fun so we call it a success!
I forgot to take pictures however. Typical.

Here is the recipe for the pretzels should anyone be interested.

Mix together:
2 tsp. yeast
1 1/2 c. warm water
3 T sugar

Add to:
4 c. flour
1 t. salt

After shaping your pretzels brush with a beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.

Ryan was hoping that he would be able to do his own lemonade stand after school. Luckily he must have forgotten by the time he got home because when the SNOW started he wasn't at all distressed! Now I sit at my computer looking at a beautiful spring day. A little chilly, but definitely spring.
I remember in high school we all used to joke about it snowing on prom (as it often did). I wonder if that's going on anywhere this weekend!

Looking on the bright side however, my tulips are lovely. I really do love spring, just not when it acts more like winter.
